Art has been with the department since 1984 and has a MS degree in meteorology from Penn State. He specializes in the application of computer technology to the solving of meteorological problems. His work has involved real-time collection, analysis, and display of weather information using the University Corporation of Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Unidata software packages as well as locally developed software.

Mr. Person works on sponsored research projects in the areas of high-throughput data acquisition and analysis for statistical and numerical weather analysis and prediction.
